First, is your belief system in yourself.  You must believe that your body can heal naturally

Laura Shofroth,  Holistic Health & Wellness Consultant suffered of endometiosis that was accompanied with chronic pain 24/7. surgery and pain killers didn't help. her turning point was a book she read. after applying its principles she became pain free within 2 weeks only, eventually this journey led her to become a herbalist and a health coach.

It all started at:

Over 20 years ago, while caring for my terminally ill father, my ill husband at the time, and caring for two small children, I became sick.  The diagnosis was Endometriosis. This is where tissue from inside the uterus grows outside of the uterus, adhering organs together causing pain.  I had pain for 30 days out of the month..

Main symptoms were:

The unending pain & pulling sensation was relentless, and pain killers only worked temporarily.
constant pain. Upon diagnosis, doctors advised radical surgery, completely removing everything including both ovaries. Then, they said, I would need to be on medications and hormone replacement therapy for many years after that. I was almost hopeless, wondering “why me?”

I tried these modalities but they did not cure me:

surgery and pain killers. I finally received a diagnosis from my gynecologist that it was indeed Endometriosis.  After the surgery, it was later found that I was bleeding internally.  The explanation was that the doctor accidentally cut me and my body was encapsulating the blood, causing a tumor like growth to grow rapidly.

Change in the plot:

Something inside me did not want to agree to the surgery, so I instead went home and began to find research on a cure.  I did not find one, but I did find a lady in the U.K. that wrote a book on her own healing and a cookbook as well. I ordered both and began to read everything, while still researching and learning all I could about the body, how it heals and foods, herbs and medicine.
During that initial period, my journey began with eliminating sugar first.  Then, I changed my diet radically.  Within less than two weeks, my pain then subsided, almost miraculously!

the body can heal

It is my belief system that the body can heal….if given the right resources and tools that it needs to heal. These tools are whole, unprocessed foods, plenty of raw vegetables and fruit, nuts and seeds.  Plenty of Omega 3 fatty acids, sunshine and meditation.  Exercise, sweating daily and healing any gut disturbances are key to reversing any chronic condition.

I was fortunate enough to happen into researching meditation and the power of the mind as well.  As I began to incorporate meditation into my own healthy lifestyle, I began to receive amazing and extraordinary results.  While I wear contacts now, I came out of 1 healing meditation with perfect 20/20 vision.  Another time, I came out of a meditation with my temporary back pain that I was having, completely dissipated.

meditation is a key to healing

The benefits were so amazing, and I was stunned to find that through meditation, it brings a certain level of relaxation, peace and even forgiveness.  All of this comes into play in healing, as stored emotions are contributors to illness as well.   For some time, I did work on my own Inner Child healing, as I uncovered trauma and unforgiveness in my own life.  I understand now that so many people are walking around with unhealed traumas and emotions that are taking a toll on their health.

Healing any chronic condition would be first, mastery of daily lifestyle…life-giving foods, gut healing foods, regular sunlight on the skin, exercise daily, understanding the dangers of stress and how to reverse it, meditation, detoxification.

doctors do not teach nutrition

Unfortunately, here in the West, doctors do not teach nutrition, but rather give pharmaceutical medications when people have manifestation of disease and imbalances.  Most doctor visits have a root cause of stress.

So understanding how much our daily lifestyle encompasses our inner health and well as our total physiology is of utmost importance.

The doom of the past versus the glory of my present life:

I ate raw foods for several months, and added supplements to nourish my deficient body, support my immune system and reverse hormonal imbalances. For the next 10 years, I stuck to this new life style (I still do!), and when people saw the change in me, I was able to help other people with chronic illnesses and pain using information from my mentors (Holistic M.D.’s), and I also became an Herbalist.

My best advice to fellow sufferers of chronic conditions:

I have witnessed  people healing from obesity, inflammation, and chronic illnesses from acid reflux to cancer.  It can be done. First, is your belief system in yourself.  You must believe that your body can heal naturally.  Second, is life applications of healing foods and nurturing the body the way we are supposed to. Thirdly, becoming conscious of our thoughts, patterns and inner trauma that needs healing also.  It’s the whole picture, the whole body.
