Luke's arm now

It all started at:

12 years old. my skin was inflammed. Eczema, atopic sermatitis or psoriasis are actually the same thing basically : inflammation of the skin.

Main symptoms were:

swelling, redness, oozing wounds and lot of pain on the Skin. I live with it 14 years,

Dark night of the soul:

withdrawl syndrome of stoppinf topical steroids which lasted 7 years. I was bedridden with pain and lost my job and friends. nevertheless I am strong willed and had hope to heal. I took it one day at a time and educated myself.

Change in the plot:

My turning point happened at 2020. I found a Japanese doctor whose expertise is on skin inflammation and used his method which was "no moisture treatment". it means: no creams and only 1 shower a week to allow the skin dry. After only a week i found a huge improvement and my lidfe went back to normal Wounds and skin inflammation were reduced dramatically. it lasted about a year and then has a relapse.
As for what I did. I completely stopped all forms of any moisturizing, no creams, no lotions. Nothing goes on the skin. I showered very briefly once a week for under a minute. I allowed.my skin to dry up and and form scabs by doing this and the skin underneath started to he, become stronger.

This was very unpleasant as it would restrict my limbs and movement like a dryed snake, the skin would pull together trying to heal. With this came uncontrollable itch scratching off the scabs and skin. However I never punished myself or felt bad for it as I knew the newer skin underneath was getting stronger.

A year of this goes by and I get normality back into my life, I had some freedom again, however I still could not apply anything to my skin as moisturizer. Sometime down the line my skin started to rebound, I got worse again. I was angry, frustrated. My life was forced to stop again and I could bearly walk properly, my arm locked into place with swelling under the skin. I had come so far and I realized that I believe NMT (no moisturizer treatment) can only take you so far. I started to think logically about my situation, look back at pictures which I regularly take to see where I was best at. The answer was summer time, I would actively get sun and my skin looked  beautiful. (As shown in picture).

I mentioned this to my doctor and he contacted the skin clinic for me to have a appointment for talks about light therapy. Soon I was informed about Red light therapy. I wanted to know more so specifically looked into Red light for wound healing. I decided to invest in a device with Red and NIR wave lengths. Treating the areas daily slowly I began to see progress. I then found Dr Fukaya who is also in Japan, he specifically talks about what steroids topically do to the skin and how they disable this enzymes ability to produce hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid  is our bodys way of maintaining a good healthy skin barrier. This lead me to start supplementing with high molecular weight hyaluronic acid by DoNotAge. Unlike supplement companies they use the molecules actually used in scientific literature.

I noticed right away a benifit by taking it.

The doom of the past versus the glory of my present life:

I noticed my skin gets better in the sun and started to explorr light therapy: blue and red waves. I bought a device of near infra red and infra red light and notices it gradually cured the skin lesions. I sat with it 10 minutes for each skin area and after 3 months most of wounds were gone.

So far I have been using red and NIR for 3 months and supplement high molecular weight hyaluronic acid for just over 1 month. My progress has been steady and continues to improve with no regression. I am not 100% healed all over my body. But even the deepest wounds have improved. And I truly believe in time I will.

My best advice to fellow sufferers of chronic conditions:

consistency is the key: it doesn't happen overnight. Be patient and consistent. People expect to heal at once with a new modality they found. It's unrealistic. consistency and perserverence make the difference

final words for anyone suffering with TSW. I believe strongly that willpower is not found, but created. You can get through, you may no be able to use your body..but you can use your mind. Remember that.
